RIMMEL WAKE ME UP CONCEALER

Although I love my Collection 2000 concealer, sometimes I just don't want something so heavy and so I thought that I'd give the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer a go since I loved the foundation so much. I picked up the shade Ivory, which is the lightest shade in the line, which is unfortunate for those whom are extremely pale and there also isn't anything for the deeper skin tones either - which I find to be a common issue with drugstore brands. The formulation of the concealer is really lovely - it's creamy and smooth, making it a dream to blend. I've been using a beauty blender for my foundation again recently and then using it to blend out my concealer too and it works beautifully. I don't suffer with too many problems around my eye area, thankfully, other than them looking dull so this really helps to brighten my eye area and leave a blowy/dewy look.

MAC POLITELY PINK

When I was in MAC the other day I was drawn over to the lipstick stand and I was randomly picking up lipsticks and swatching away on my hand until my hand looked like I had some sort of new illness that left pink, nude and coral swatches on your skin! I noticed that I picked up the same lipstick 3 times and swatched it - that only means one thing.. I have to buy it, so I did. Anyway, as you've probably guessed that lipstick was Politely Pink which is a lustre finish.

I didn't realise until I got home and put it on how much of a colour match it was to my actual lip colour. The base colour is pretty similar to my lips but with it being a lustre finish is has the most beautiful shine to it that can duplicate the effect of a lipgloss. I really hate wearing lipgloss to work just because I can't have it on me to top it up and my hair always gets caught and it's really annoying when I can't just pop to the toilet to fix it so I tend to go without. However, this lipstick gives the sheen that I would want from a lipgloss all in a lipstick!

I know some people are really put off MAC lipsticks because they are forever increasing in price but I think they're nice for the staple colours in your collection! I really love this lipstick and I would recommend everyone to go and have a swatch or even have a look at the lustre range if you are after the lipgloss effect!

I am so, so late on the bandwaggon with this palette but I've really only just got into eyeshadow! I thought the Naked palette would be a good place to start because you do get a whole range of neutral shades to play about with compared to when building your own palette from MAC or Inglot. I picked the second palette just because I thought the colours would compliment my skin tone more and I prefer the packaging.

I've really loved playing around with this palette! On the days when I want a really relaxed look I've been using my Maybelline Colour Tattoo in On and On Bronze on the lid and then just using bootycall in the crease and on the outer part of my eye. On days when I want to make a little more of an effort I will reach for tease to go in the crease, foxy as a highlight on the brow bone an bootycall all over the lid. Overall, I really love this palette and I'm really glad that I bought it and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone who was unsure.

A few weeks back I was in Covent Garden and I ended up in the Chanel shop looking at all the different lipglosses and I completely fell in love with two but I just couldn't bring myself to spend the money on them, at £21 each. I really loved the shades 166 Amour and 151 Aragonite. On Sunday I was in Debenhams, so when I was at the Chanel counter I picked up 151 Aragonite. I went with this one over the other shade mainly because it's a clear gloss with a unique shimmer to it so it will go with every lipstick!

It's a really lovely lipgloss that isn't greasy or sticky or uncomfortable on the lips. I've tried a few lip glosses that have glitter in and they can be almost itchy on the lips from the glitter particles but that's really not the case with this. It's more of shimmer particle than a full on glitter so you don't look like a disco ball! I know it's pricey for a lip gloss but if you're going to treat yourself, why not? It's a really lovely lip gloss that's going to be wearable over any lipstick, lip liner or even a nude lip!

RIMMEL APOCALIPS

I did a swap with a lovely girl named Scarlett last month and she sent me one of the Rimmel Apocalips in Nova. Up until then I hadn't bothered with them just because I have to many lip products and I just didn't want to just follow the hype - if it was still there in a few months, I've give them a whirl. However when Scarlett sent me one, I was amazed by the pigmentation! Although the pink is lovely, it's not a colour I'm comfortable with wearing daily - since it's so bright! I'm much more of a neutral girl for day-to-day and so I grabbed the colour Nude Eclipse.

They're both highly-pigmented lip glosses that go on really lovely. They're quite a thick gloss, which I know sounds a little off putting but they're kind of a hybrid between a gloss and a lipstick! They're not sticky like a lipgloss and they're not drying like some lipsticks. Unfortunately they wear like a lipgloss too, so you do kind of have to top them up but because they're not sticky, it's not such an issue. Overall, I'm really impressed with the Apocalips range, however the colour selection isn't the greatest - it's pretty limited so hopefully they expand that soon and then I can indulge in a much more wearable pink too!

MAC EYE KOHL IN SMOLDER

Finding the perfect black eyeliner can be quite challenging, which sounds odd because it's such a staple in so many different peoples makeup bag yet it can take quite a while to find one that works for you. Pigmentation is probably the major issue that people have to deal with then looking for that perfect black eye kohl. Sometimes when you actually use the pencil, it doesn't give the intense look you were after - instead they leave you with a grey-ish looking colour, which may be okay for some, but not for me.

I've tried so many eye pencils from No7 to Benefit to Revlon but it's never really satisfied my need for an intense black eye kohl. However, MAC's Smolder is that perfect intense black. It's quite a stiff consistency, which I know it sounds off putting but it's not going to drag your eyes, promise - it's definitely not going to run down your face which I know people with oily eye-lids can really struggle with. I really quite liked the Soap & Glory Smoulder Kohl in Super Black but it's a lot more of a creamy consistency and I feel like after a long day, even on me and my skin's not really oily, it can start to smudge and wear whereas the MAC pencil stays put all day and still looks as intense as ever.
