Alice Bow Insoles

Something I never thought I would feature on my blog. It's definitely not something I tent to talk about or even think about, but honestly, I do need them especially when it comes to wearing high heels. I'm definitely a flats girl but I can't resist pretty heels and how elegant they make you look, and how they can instantly make you look a few pounds slimmer. However, I was doing a little bit of research on Princess Kate and I stumbled across a rather interesting article (you can read it here).

If you haven't read it, don't worry - I'll sum it up for you. It mentions that it is common knowledge among the women of the Royal Family that Her Majesty is not a fan of wedge shoes and so, Kate steers clear. But we all know that wedges are a comfier alternative to the regular heel but we mustn't disappoint. Well, don't worry, there's a helping hand on it's way to fulfil it's Royal duties - Alice Bow insoles. So obviously, if they're good enough for Kate, they're good enough for me, so I ordered two pairs..

At £13.90 a pair, they aren't bank-breaking but they are definitely more than I pay for the ones I pick up in boots, however Alice Bow insoles are expertly and individually handcrafted in London, using high quality and beautifully coloured Italian leathers. As you can see, I opted for the bronze and pink colours.

There are two variants of insoles available: one for flat shoes that has more cushioning under the heel to keep the bounce and one for high heels which has slim, full length padding that cushions the ball of your foot, while being thin enough to slip into your favourite heels without affecting the fit. Both styles are shaped at the front so you can wear them with open or closed toe shoes and there are added double-sided sticky spots to the underside of your insoles to ensure they stay perfectly in place, all day, every day. Plus, the superior quality orthopaedic padding delivers breathable, anti-bacterial and lasting comfort.

I think they look really pretty. I am yet to wear the heel insoles out on a night out but on first impressions they fit like a glove. The pink flat insoles look super cute inside my black work shoes! I do need to buy new work shoes as my current ones are looking a bit old now so that's why there's no photograph, ha!)

When it comes down to it, I'm not telling you to run out and buy these - they aren't a necessity, definitely more of a luxury but it does come to down to what you value. You should always look after your feet - they are what keep you standing. They are an investment because they will last longer than your typical gel or sponge insoles you can buy on the high-street and they are a slight fashion statement.. However, if you are contemplating it, I'd say go for it..
